1. What is Girls Make Beats?  

Girls Make Beats is a nonprofit organization that empowers young girls by expanding the female presence of music producers, DJs, and audio engineers. We offer educational programs, workshops, and industry opportunities to girls ages 5-17.
 

2. Who can join Girls Make Beats?  

Girls aged 5-17 who have an interest in music production, DJing, or audio engineering can join Girls Make Beats. We especially encourage girls from underserved communities to apply.

3. Where are your programs offered?

We offer both in-person and online programs. Our in-person programs are currently available in Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, and New York with plans to expand to more cities. Online programs are accessible to girls worldwide

4. How do I join Girls Make Beats?  

You can join by visiting our Membership Page and signing up for one of our membership plans. 
 

5. What is the new membership model? 

Starting September 1st, Girls Make Beats will adopt a paid membership model. Membership will range from $50 - $100 per month, which grants access to events, field trips, masterclasses, special workshops, and mentoring sessions. Tuition for classes will be $500 per class module.
 

6. Are scholarships available?  

Yes, members can apply for scholarships to help cover the cost of tuition for classes. We encourage all interested members to apply if they need financial assistance.
 

7. Can I still participate if I don't live near one of your program locations?

Absolutely! Our online programs allow girls from around the world to participate in our workshops, masterclasses, and other activities.

Our classes are module-based, focusing on different aspects of music production, DJing, or audio engineering. Each module costs $500 and offers in-depth, hands-on training with industry professionals.

10. Do I need any prior experience to join a class? 

No prior experience is necessary! Our classes are designed to accommodate all skill levels, from beginners to advanced students.

11. What equipment do I need to participate in online classes?  

For online classes, you'll need a computer with internet access, headphones, and any specific software or equipment required for the course. We provide a detailed list of requirements upon enrollment.

 

12. Who teaches the classes?  

Our classes are taught by experienced industry professionals who are passionate about mentoring the next generation of female music producers, DJs, and audio engineers.
